ABSTRACT
Frequent headlines on news that shows the attack on the Indian fishermen by Lankan navy officials, had created a threat over the fishermen community of rameshwaram, a fishermen district of Southern Tamilnadu, India. Many fishermen had been arrested and shot dead, accusing that they had crossed the Indian Sea boundary for fishing. This paper deals with the concept of using Marine GPS as a lifesaving tool, which helps in reducing the attacks over the Indian Fishermen. Tracking of fishermen boats can be done and an alarm set up can be made in the boats, and if the boat moves beyond the Indian Sea boundary the device gives warning alarm indicating the movement beyond the limit and thereby it’ll be helpful for the fishermen to stay safe.
